New House: Update

0

Remember that time we were closing on our dream home June 28? Just kidding. July 9th it is.

For reasons too frustrating to express, we will be in the condo another 3 weeks. Thankfully, we've found an absolutely wonderful tenant to rent August 1 so we still have plenty of time to move out at our leisure (not that we will, but it's nice to have the option).

This brings something immediately to mind: We still have to wait 3 weeks before grocery shopping. Last night I dug out some gift cards we had to LETTUCE ENTERTAIN YOU and we treated ourselves (for free) to Shaw's Crab House. At the time we didn't know we would have to wait 3 more weeks before grocery shopping.

Bill is so great at capturing those awkward moments...
Ironically, last night we made rounds to all of the local groceries to pick up produce boxes for the move. We walked into the stores and stared at the produce section, salivating. The workers must have thought we had been delivered from Crazyville the way we walked through the aisles oohing and ahhing over tomatoes, peaches, apples and watermelons. We didn't even allow ourselves to TOUCH any of the produce in fear of the emotions it would evoke. Walking towards the door at our Mariano's Bill wistfully exclaimed, "Tomatoes....I remember those...." *SIGH* A few more weeks! We can do this. Unfortunately, thinking we only had a few more DAYS, we blew all of our gift cards last night. D'oh!! At least that lobster was totally worth it :)

Tomorrow I am having a craft day with my mom! I can't wait to spend the day being creative - another perk to postponing the move! Less time packing this weekend, more time enjoying.

Wish Bill luck as he rides 150 miles on his bike this weekend in the MS150 Tour De Farms! If you'd like to donate to his team, you can do so right here. GO TEAM TOO HOT TO HANDLEBAR!!!
