Goals: Huge Flat TV – AND MY FIRST GIVEAWAY

Bill and I endured the event that is Black Friday last week. I took the day off of work & we went to bed early to get in a good nap before waking up at 3:00am to go rush the crowds of Palatine & see what bargains we could find.

Most people hunt for deals on TV's on Black Friday, but we went out just for the "experience" of it all. It turned out to be kind of a bust. We were home & back in bed by 5:30am, sawing logs. However, the following day we went to Costco and Bill fell in love with a huge flat screen tv. It was probably 56" wide and only 1" thick, maximum. It was truly unbelievable. We stood, jaws dropped, and stared at it (and all of it's 56" of high-definition, LCD glory).

Later on that night we discussed how we would display this incredible dream TV (which is currently in the "Goals" category – possibly sometime in 2011 we will be fortunate enough to mark it into the "Accomplished" category!). There's always the debate of wall mount vs. TV stand. I voted TV stand, and although I had anticipated Bill to vote wall mount, he surprisingly was with me on the TV stand vote.

In our home, decisions lead to shopping and I found this wonderful website which breaks down how you can shop for TV stands for flat screens. I love how it breaks everything down into categories - shopping by size is a time-saver for me! I can't measure for crud, so websites that TELL me what size of something I need are way up my alley!
