Daydreaming: Dining Room Rehab

Fact: I really want to paint our dining room table & chairs a bone color. Hubs has this weird obsession with wood grain and even though our dining set was purchased for $50 at a garage sale, I am not allowed to do anything beyond reupholster the chair cushions.

This is what our dining room looks like now (photo taken while I was nursing so just pretend like it's nicely shot):

That beige color is on the walls throughout our main living area upstairs. Dining room, living room, entry way, hall...and I'm about done with it. It's a perfectly fine color, but Hubs and I aren't "beige" people. We're blue people. Or green. Or yellow! Something other than beige.

Also, I hate carpet. Really hate it. In a dream world, our main living space would have fun colored walls and beautiful dark, hand-scraped oak hardwood floors to match the dark woodwork throughout the home. And our dining room set would be bone white. Something like any of these:

And how incredible would it be if the table and chairs were painted white/bone...the walls were blue, and the cushions were burlap?! Now we're getting somewhere! Totally kid-proof too! Love it.
