Gratitude Is Trendy

1

A letter from our CEO at work just came through, mentioning how he and his wife noticed that gratitude is "trendy" this year – I can't decide if this is a blessing or a curse.

I am thankful so many people have realized being grateful is a cool thing to do, but can't it just be part of everyday life? Can't more people stop and smell the roses and say, as my current favorite blogger says, “Damn. We’re lucky.”?

Whatever the reason, I'm really grateful for a lot this year, and every year. Life rocks and I love it!

You know what else rocks? Candice Olson.

Today a dream of mine came true, because the chance of me actually meeting Candice herself is so minimal... I bought two of her throw pillows on Joss & Main. It's the closest I'll get to seeing her or giving her a hug for sharing her brilliance with the world, so when these puppies show up I am going to hug the crap out of them.

If you remember from the last post our new bedding looks like this:

However, the bedding only comes with that gorgeous duvet and two shams. The rest of the fluff in the photo will not be delivered to our doorstep so I will be accessorizing in other ways. I love a good deal on throw pillows so the Candice Olson collection on Joss & Main this morning caught my attention, loud & clear.

I am a pillow junkie - our couch is covered in miscellaneous, yet somehow perfectly appropriate throw pillows and anytime I am at a home decor store I look for another pillow for the collection. Part of my "slow design is good design" mentality, I suppose. I hate buying things all boxed up together and calling it a day. Naturally, I cannot wait to get these Candice pillows home! (in my head, we're buddies, so she doesn't mind me calling her by her first name.)

Oh, and because I couldn't live without it... this little number is coming home to us too:

How could I resist?!

Now, show your bed some gratitude and splurge on a few fancy pillows. I promise you won't regret it.
