I am so new to the blog scene I can only think of a few ladies who are eligible for this nomination:Here are the Liebster Blog Award rules:1. Answer the blogger’s eleven questions
2. Think of eleven questions of your own
3. Choose eleven worthy bloggers (who have fewer than 200 followers) to interview and pay it forward.
- My darling friend Ann Marie blogs about new homeownership & wedding planning over at My DelFab Life
- Alissa blogs all about the latest and greatest fashion must-haves as well as fashion-forward, budget-friendly frocks at Feeling Good
- Melissa is a recipe mastermind, and blogs all about it as CBGeneva
- Crystal is a dedicated wife and mother and blogs all about it at Parenting Without A Parachute
Now, Roxanne's Questions:
- When did you first fall in love with writing?
When I was able to physically write the stories down that were fluttering in my mind, I fell in love. I wrote my first series of chapter books when I was seven. - What three authors make you swoon?
I am one of those rare and terrible people who read a lot but never remember authors names. I can't even think of one at the moment (I know, the worst.) - What writing projects are you currently working on?
I am currently contributing to a series monthly on All Things Girl called "Habitation" where I chat and rant about ongoing home projects and DIY crafts. I also contribute to Parenting Without A Parachute once a month, which I adore. I am not currently working on any personal pieces, though I hope to write a novel one day. - Which fictional character do you most identify with and why?
Elizabeth from Pride & Prejudice, because she gets to live happily ever after with the love of her life, just like I do. - If you could tell your 21-year-old self one thing, what would it be?
Your dream man is on his way. He will be here any minute. Relax. - You get backstage passes to see any singer or musician, living or dead. Who would it be?
Glee. Hands down, I might die if I saw Glee, let alone got backstage with them. I'm swooning on my couch just thinking about it. - What movie makes you cry, no matter how many times you’ve seen it?
Free Willie. Every time he jumps over that wall gets me. - Which television shows would we catch you watching when you’re supposed to be writing?
Gossip Girl, New Girl, Glee, Blue Planet - What’s the best meal you’ve ever eaten (or cooked)?
The day my husband lost his job in 2010, we ironically already had dinner reservations for Benny's Chop House. It was so incredible, we went back for my 24th Birthday this year and I had the most incredible meal I've ever eaten in my life. Beef carpaccio, oysters on the half, and a 45 day dry-aged ribeye. Oh. My. G.... - Where do you hope your writing takes you in five years? In ten?
I hope to start and finish my novel/be published in the next ten years. I would love to continue blogging for any opportunities that arise and align with the views I have as a writer. - What are your three favorite books of all time?
Water for Elephants, The Secret, The Art of Racing in the Rain.
Now it's my turn to think up 11 questions?! Alright.. here goes.
- As a writer, what is one goal you hope to accomplish?
- Why did you start your blog?
- What book are you reading currently? Are you enjoying it?
- When you're on a date with your SO, what type of movie are you most likely to see?
- Other than your SO, who captures your heart?
- What is your all-time favorite blog post (written by yourself or others)?
- How does your SO support you and your writing (if not, why not)?
- If you could be in any movie as leading actress, what movie would it be & who is playing your counter part?
- What is one trip you hope to go on someday?
- What advice did your mom give you growing up that stuck with you throughout the years?
- Finish this statement, "Five years ago, I never thought I would..."
Fantastic interview, Jess! It is so much fun getting to know you better. You wrote chapter books at 7? Impressive! Elizabeth Bennet is also the fictional character I most identify with and I love New Girl.
ReplyDeleteThanks!! It was fun to answer these questions! Yes, I started writing very early & when American Girl came out with blank book packages, I immediately asked for them and filled in the pages with stories of puppies.
